Cocaine, also called coke, is a stimulant taken as a powder (snorted) or as crack (smoked). Its effects are intense but short-lived, which leads many people to repeat the dose again and again in binges. Over time the brain’s natural reward system weakens and the person feels low and flat without the drug.

Unlike opioids, cocaine withdrawal is mostly emotional and mental: heavy tiredness, low mood, restlessness, disturbed sleep and strong cravings. There is currently no medicine approved specifically for cocaine addiction, so recovery rests on behavioural therapies such as CBT and contingency management, together with medical care for heart, sleep and mood problems.

We combine a careful health check with therapy, craving-management skills and family support to help you stay free from cocaine.
